Incident in Salvador's Barra Neighborhood
An app driver, identified as Zeca, has come forward to denounce an act of aggression he suffered after interrupting a ride in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The incident took place on the night of Sunday, February 1st, in the city's Barra neighborhood. Zeca reported that he was assaulted by passengers after he asked them to exit his vehicle due to them engaging in a sexual act during the trip.
Details of the Confrontation
According to Zeca's account, he accepted a ride from Rua César Zama, in Barra, with the destination set for Rio Vermelho. Three men boarded his vehicle. During the journey, two of the passengers, who were seated in the back, began to kiss. Zeca stated that he initially did not intervene, but as the ride continued, he observed them engaging in oral sex inside the car.
Upon witnessing the act, Zeca decided to interrupt the ride and requested that the passengers disembark. This request led to a confrontation, during which one of the passengers reportedly punched Zeca, causing a minor injury near his nose.
Police Investigation Underway
Following the aggression, Zeca filed a police report. The case is being investigated by the 14th Territorial Police Station of Barra. Authorities are treating the incident as 'ato obsceno' (obscene act) and 'vias de fato' (physical altercation).
Crucially, the entire incident was reportedly recorded by cameras installed inside Zeca's vehicle, providing key evidence for the investigation. As of February 4th, the police were still working to identify all individuals involved in the incident. Zeca provided a new statement to the police on Tuesday, February 3rd, as the investigation continues.

Good for the driver! His car, his rules. Public indecency is not okay.

Absolutely disgusting behavior from the passengers. Driver's vehicle is not a motel!

Private consensual acts are their business. Driver should have minded his own.

Was it really worth getting punched over? Driver could have just dropped them off.

Assaulting the driver? That's beyond unacceptable. Hope they get the book thrown at them.
