According to his son, Priyank Kharge, who is a Karnataka Minister, the procedure was a 'planned' and 'minor' one, advised due to age-related issues and instances of breathlessness. Kharge's condition has been reported as stable and he is recovering well.

Following the successful procedure, Priyank Kharge confirmed that his father is stable and doing well. In response to Prime Minister Modi's wishes, Mallikarjun Kharge expressed his gratitude with a 'Thank you'. Doctors have advised a few days of rest for the veteran leader. Despite the medical intervention, Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to resume his duties from October 3 and plans to attend all his scheduled engagements. Notably, he is slated to address a public rally in Kohima, Nagaland, on October 7.
