America250, the national initiative dedicated to celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, has officially partnered with Super Bowl LX to engage millions of NFL fans in the nation's historic semiquincentennial. This collaboration aims to integrate the significant milestone into one of the country's most-watched sporting events, scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Integrating the Semiquincentennial into Super Bowl LX

The partnership will see various elements introduced to commemorate the 250th anniversary. Teams participating in Super Bowl LX will wear special 'USA 250' patches on their jerseys. The celebration will extend beyond the championship game, with 'America 250' markings appearing on playing fields and branded coins used at midfield during all NFL games starting from Week 18 of the 2025 season. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to purchase club-specific America 250 apparel.

A notable highlight of the Super Bowl LX festivities will be a joint military flyover. The Air Force and Navy will conduct an eight-aircraft formation, featuring B-1B Lancer bombers, F-15C Eagle fighters, F/A-18E Super Hornets, and F-35C Lightning II stealth fighters, to honor the nation's 250th birthday. This extensive initiative is a collaborative effort involving the White House, sports merchandising company Fanatics, the America250 committee, and several major sports leagues, including MLB, MLS, NASCAR, NBA, NHL, UFC, and WWE.

America250 is the nonprofit supporting organization to the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission, which was established by Congress in 2016 to plan and orchestrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The commemoration period began in 2020, culminates on July 4, 2026, and officially concludes in 2027. The organization's mission is to create inclusive programs that inspire Americans to renew and strengthen democracy, aiming to engage all 350 million Americans by the anniversary.
