The conflict originated from a disagreement over the launch of a membership portal for 'Your Party'. Sultana had initiated a drive for paid memberships, which Corbyn and his allies subsequently disowned as an 'unauthorised email'. Corbyn's team advised supporters not to use the link provided by Sultana and indicated that 'legal advice was being taken' regarding its launch. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has confirmed receipt of a report and is currently assessing the information provided concerning the membership system.

'Your Party', co-founded by Sultana and Corbyn on July 24, 2025, was established with an interim name and aims to present a new left-wing political alternative in the United Kingdom. A founding conference for the party is anticipated in November 2025, where a formal name is expected to be decided.
