Perfume's Cutting-Edge Performance Reimagined in 3D at Osaka Kansai Expo

Step into the future of live entertainment at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp.'s pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo. Here, visitors will witness a groundbreaking reimagining of the iconic female group Perfume's performance, brought to life in stunning 3D technology.

In the lead-up to the expo, NTT will capture the electro-pop trio's performance at the Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Suita, Osaka Prefecture, using advanced 3D recording technology. This data will then be transmitted to the expo pavilion through NTT's next-generation telecommunications infrastructure, the Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN), ensuring minimal delay in data transmission.

The magic unfolds as the live performance is recreated with video footage and vibrations based on the captured data, streamed live on NTT's website. This innovative technology, dubbed "spatial information transmission," promises to transport viewers to the heart of the performance, blurring the lines between physical and virtual experiences.

Following the expo's grand opening on April 13th, visitors donning 3D glasses can immerse themselves in a simulated spatial information transmission based on the stored live performance data. This immersive experience allows them to relive the electrifying performance, even after the live event has concluded.

This innovative showcase marks a significant milestone in the evolution of live entertainment, echoing the spirit of the 1970 Osaka Expo, where NTT's predecessor, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corp., unveiled the then-futuristic technology of the wireless telephone.
