Inoue and Nery Set for Title Showdown at Tokyo Dome
The undisputed super-bantamweight world champion, Naoya 'Monster' Inoue, and Mexican challenger Luis Nery, both successfully made weight on Sunday for their highly anticipated title showdown at the Tokyo Dome. This marks the first boxing event at the iconic venue since 1990, when James "Buster" Douglas famously upset Mike Tyson.
Inoue, who will be defending his four world titles, weighed in at 55.2kg, just 100g under the limit. Nery, a former two-division world champion, came in at 54.8kg, with 500g to spare. Despite Nery's history of missing weight, Inoue expressed confidence in his opponent's preparation.
"I knew he would make the weight," Inoue said. "It's a big event and Nery is probably making more for this fight than any previous fight in his career. I wasn't worried."
This fight marks Inoue's third time competing at super-bantamweight, having previously defeated both Stephen Fulton and Marlon Tapales to unify the division. He is aiming to become the second undisputed world champion at two different weights since the four-belt era began in 2004.
The undercard features several other intriguing matchups, including Inoue's younger brother Takuma defending his WBA bantamweight title against Sho Ishida, and Australia's Jason Moloney defending his WBO bantamweight belt against Yoshiki Takei.
With both fighters making weight and the stage set at the historic Tokyo Dome, the highly anticipated clash between Inoue and Nery promises to be an electrifying event for boxing fans worldwide.

I'm not interested in this fight at all. Boring.

I'm tired of these big names getting all the attention. What about the underdogs?

I'm tired of seeing the same fighters over and over again. Give someone else a chance.

This fight is just a cash grab, not interested in supporting it.
