The natural disaster has resulted in significant loss of life and has severely damaged critical infrastructure, including roads and bridges. The disruption has hampered rescue operations and communications, making it difficult for authorities to establish contact with travelers and residents in remote areas.
Consular Assistance and Safety
The Canadian government has advised citizens currently in Nepal to monitor local media, follow the instructions of local authorities, and exercise a high degree of caution.
