These operations, conducted across various regions of Saudi Arabia, targeted those found in violation of the Kingdom's residency, labor, and border security regulations.
Breakdown of Violations
According to official reports, the detainees were processed for various infractions related to the country's legal framework for foreign nationals and employment. The breakdown of the 14,897 arrests is as follows:
- 8,753 individuals were arrested for violations of the Residency Law.
- 3,865 individuals were arrested for violations of the Border Security Law.
- 2,279 individuals were arrested for violations of the Labor Law.
Ongoing Enforcement Efforts
The Ministry of Interior continues to emphasize that anyone found facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom, providing transportation, shelter, or assistance to violators, faces severe legal consequences. Penalties for such offenses can include imprisonment for up to 15 years, fines reaching 1 million Saudi Riyals, and the confiscation of vehicles and properties used to transport or house offenders.
