The seismic events, occurring in the early morning hours, registered magnitudes of 4.0 and 4.4, respectively. Details of the Guerrero Earthquake
The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.0, struck the state of Guerrero. Its epicenter was located approximately 42 kilometers south of Chilpancingo, the state capital. The tremor occurred at approximately 03:21 AM local time (GMT-6) and had a depth of 49.6 kilometers. Initial reports from the SSN and local authorities confirmed that no significant damages were reported in the region. Some sources indicated the quake was not widely felt.
Chiapas Experiences Seismic Activity
Later in the morning, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 was recorded in the state of Chiapas. The epicenter of this event was situated about 126 kilometers southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo. The earthquake occurred at approximately 02:54 AM local time (GMT-6), with a depth of 16.1 kilometers. Similar to the Guerrero event, officials have not reported any substantial damage or injuries in Chiapas.
