The awards ceremony was held on Friday, February 13, 2026, coinciding with the inauguration and groundbreaking of 1,179 Free Nutritious Meal Service Units (SPMBG) and 18 Polri food security warehouses.

The honors bestowed by President Prabowo included the prestigious Bintang Jasa and Satyalancana Wira Karya awards, recognizing cross-sector collective work in national food security.
- The Bintang Jasa Utama was awarded to Dadan Hindayana, Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
- The Bintang Jasa Pratama was conferred upon Deputy Police Chief Dedi Prasetyo and three deputy heads of the BGN.
- Several senior Polri officials received the Bintang Jasa Nararya.
- The Satyalancana Wira Karya was presented to regional police chiefs, senior officers, and food sector community leader Zaini Sidi.
These accolades were granted in recognition of the recipients' 'significant service, dedication, and contributions to strengthening the implementation of the Polri MBG program, maintaining the SPPG supply chain, and supporting national policies on nutrition, food security, and public services,' as stated by Head of Public Relations of Polri Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir.
The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program
The Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program, which translates to 'Free Nutritious Meals,' is a flagship social policy launched by President Prabowo Subianto in 2025. It aims to provide nutritious meals to school-age children and pregnant women nationwide, with the primary goal of combating child malnutrition, particularly stunting, which affects a significant portion of Indonesian children. The program seeks to enhance the health of future generations, boost farmers' incomes, and revitalize local economies. By early 2026, the program had reached approximately 55 million beneficiaries across Indonesia.
Commitment to National Food Security
The awards ceremony underscored the Indonesian government's strong commitment to ensuring national food security and improving public health. The involvement of the National Police in establishing nutrition service units and food security warehouses highlights a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach to addressing nutritional challenges. President Prabowo emphasized that ensuring food security is integral to national safety and welfare, extending beyond traditional public order. The MBG program is supported by over 23,000 SPPG kitchens nationwide and aims to eventually reach more than 82 million beneficiaries with over 30,000 kitchens.

Comandante
Police running food programs? This sounds like a militarization of social welfare, which is concerning.
