Delhi Schools Evacuated Following Widespread Bomb Threats Deemed Hoax

Widespread Evacuations Across Delhi Schools

On Monday, February 9, 2026, a wave of bomb threats sent via email prompted the evacuation of multiple schools across Delhi, India. The alarming messages, received by at least nine to ten prominent educational institutions between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM, triggered immediate responses from law enforcement and emergency services. Students and staff were swiftly moved to safety as police, fire tenders, and bomb disposal squads converged on the affected campuses.

Among the schools reportedly targeted were Loreto Convent in Delhi Cantonment, Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini, Cambridge School's Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony campuses, The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, CM Shri School in Rohini, DTEA School in INA, Bal Bharti School in Rohini, and Manav Sthali School in New Rajinder Nagar.

Threats Declared Hoaxes After Extensive Searches

Following comprehensive search operations involving bomb detection teams and dog squads, authorities confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosives were found at any of the schools. The Delhi Police and the Ministry of Home Affairs subsequently declared the threats to be hoaxes.

The emails reportedly contained provocative messages, including phrases such as 'Delhi will become Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru. There will be an explosion at 1:11 pm.' The messages were purportedly signed by the 'Khalistan National Army' and also included a warning of an attack on Parliament later in the week.

Ongoing Investigation into Source of Threats

The Delhi Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of these threatening emails. Officials noted that such incidents reflect a concerning trend of repeated hoax threats targeting public institutions. Investigators are analyzing digital evidence and collaborating with cyber experts, though the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), TOR, or proxy servers often makes tracing the culprits challenging, with many messages reportedly traced to overseas sources.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors, while emphasizing that those responsible for such hoaxes will face strict legal action.
