IMS Event Spotlights Diversity Charter in Luxembourg
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the Luxembourg non-profit organization Inspiring More Sustainability (IMS) hosted a significant networking event and workshop dedicated to the Diversity Charter Luxembourg. The gathering took place at the premises of Société Générale Luxembourg in Luxembourg-Ville, bringing together signatories, partners, and interested parties to discuss advancements in diversity and inclusion.
The English-language event commenced with a networking lunch, providing attendees an opportunity to connect with event hosts, current signatories of the charter, and other participants.
Review of 2025 and Outlook for 2026
A key focus of the event was a recap of Diversity Day 2025, followed by the unveiling of the program for the upcoming Diversity Day 2026, scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The presentation featured an introduction by Priscilia Talbot, IMS Project Manager, and a welcome address from Aurelia Ederle, Human Resources Director at Société Générale Luxembourg. Ms. Ederle highlighted the shared responsibility and opportunity to cultivate workplaces where individuals feel valued and can thrive, emphasizing diversity as a source of strength, innovation, and collective resilience.
Ms. Talbot provided an overview of IMS's activities in 2025, which included hosting seventeen events and the 6th edition of the Diversity Awards in October 2025. She also detailed IMS's planned initiatives for 2026, which encompass both online and in-person events. Online topics will cover regulation (pay transparency, gender equality, non-discrimination), LGBTQIA+ tools, and signatories' tools, alongside a new 'Flash CoDev' event focusing on micro-aggression. In-person events will include diversity networks centered on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) themes.
Representatives from five Luxembourg businesses—Souad Alamy and Benoît Sokol from Société Générale Luxembourg, Carole Huberty from Fondation Elisabeth, Patrick Lhuillier from Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL), Stéphanie Moulin of Arendt & Medernach, and Marine Bosquet from Sodexo Luxembourg—shared insights into their companies' participation in Diversity Day 2025.
The Diversity Charter Luxembourg and IMS's Role
The Diversity Charter Luxembourg is a national commitment articulated around six articles, inviting any organization in Luxembourg to commit to promoting and managing diversity through concrete actions that extend beyond legal obligations. It stands as the ninth Charter in the European Union and is an integral part of the European network of Diversity Charters, overseen by the European Commission's DG Justice. Currently, the Charter boasts over 325 signatories from public, private, and associative sectors, collectively representing 22% of Luxembourg's payroll. It is supported by seven privileged private and public partners.
IMS – Inspiring More Sustainability, founded in 2007, is recognized as the leading network of Luxembourg companies dedicated to sustainable development. As an independent, apolitical, and non-profit organization, IMS has been the project leader for the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg since 2012. Its mission is to inspire responsible strategies and practices among national economic actors, with its network accounting for nearly 25% of Luxembourg's payroll.

Acknowledging the importance of diversity in the workplace is a step forward, yet care must be taken to avoid a tick-box approach that doesn't genuinely integrate diverse perspectives. The upcoming events sound promising if they delve deeper than surface-level discussions.

More corporate virtue signaling. Does it actually change anything?

Having over 325 signatories is impressive and shows a widespread commitment to diversity, however, the real test lies in how effectively these principles are embedded into daily operations and not just remain on paper. Continuous evaluation will be key to success.
