Suspect Apprehended in Armed Robbery Investigation
PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) announced a significant development in the investigation of a violent armed robbery that took place on Friday, October 17, 2025. A male suspect, identified by the initials T.O.R., was arrested on Friday morning, November 21, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., in the Cole Bay area. The arrest is in connection with a vehicle believed to have been involved in the October incident.
The suspect, who is reportedly employed by a parcel delivery company on Sint Maarten, was taken into custody as part of the ongoing inquiry into the robbery at Ocean Jewelry, located inside the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Dawn Beach.
Details of the October 17 Robbery
The armed robbery occurred on October 17, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m. According to police reports, three masked individuals drove onto the hotel premises in a stolen black Kia Soul. The perpetrators then entered the jewelry establishment, brandishing a firearm, and forcibly removed an undisclosed amount of jewelry before fleeing the scene.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
The KPSM continues its investigation into the violent crime. Detectives are actively seeking additional witnesses and information that could be relevant to the case. As part of their efforts, screenshots from surveillance footage have been released to the public to assist in identifying the remaining suspects.
Authorities have also expressed interest in a suspicious yellow van and a dark sedan observed entering or leaving the Dawn Beach area between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the day of the robbery. The Police Force urges anyone who observed suspicious activity or can identify individuals from the released images to contact investigators immediately.
