On Friday, November 21, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers conducted an operation in the Cole Bay area, leading to the arrest of a male suspect identified by the initials T.O.R.. The individual, reportedly employed by a parcel delivery company on Sint Maarten, was taken into custody in connection with a vehicle believed to have been involved in the robbery.
Details of the October 17 Robbery
The armed robbery occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. at Ocean Jewelry inside the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Dawn Beach. According to police reports, three masked individuals drove onto the hotel premises in a stolen black Kia Soul. They then entered the jewelry establishment, brandishing a firearm, and forcibly removed an undisclosed amount of jewelry before fleeing the scene in the same stolen vehicle.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
The KPSM, in collaboration with the Prosecutor's Office Sint Maarten (OM SXM), has been actively investigating the serious crime. As part of their efforts, screenshots from surveillance footage were previously released to the public to assist in identifying the suspects. Detectives continue to seek additional witnesses and any information relevant to the case, emphasizing that 'even small pieces of information may prove vital'.
