Tyrrell Hatton's excitement at securing a spot on the European Ryder Cup team quickly morphed into an unpleasant experience. The golfer, after celebrating with teammate Jon Rahm, found himself in a rather unfortunate situation.
Hatton, a 33-year-old from Britain, was thrilled to receive the call from European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, confirming his place on the team. However, the post-LIV Golf event celebration in Indianapolis took an unexpected turn.
The golfer recounted the events leading up to his less-than-ideal awakening. He explained that he had collapsed onto the bed, face down, and woke up vomiting in that position. He then fell back asleep, only to wake again covered in vomit, including his arms and shirt.
The "tear-up," as Hatton described it, started with six glasses of wine, followed by a series of cocktails. These included gin and tonics, margaritas, strawberry vodka, and shots.
Despite the unpleasantness, Hatton found humor in the situation. Before leaving the hotel room, he attempted to tidy up the mess and left a note of apology along with some cash.
The European team will be competing to defend their title at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, beginning on September 26th.

He needs to grow up. This kind of behavior is unacceptable for a professional golfer.

Celebrations happen, and sometimes they get out of hand. Good for him for finding the funny side!

I'd hate for the Ryder Cup's reputation to be tarnished by Hatton's actions.

He may find it funny now, but this will have consequences. Not a great look!

He needs to rethink his priorities if he cares about the Ryder Cup. What a letdown!
