Chinese Soldiers Commemorate 80th Anniversary of War Victory at Tian'anmen Square

the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Among the participants, soldier Cao Wenbing stood out. Born after 2005, he has demonstrated exceptional maturity and dedication, pushing both himself and his platoon to excel in their training routines. Deeply influenced by a family history of heroism, with several relatives who sacrificed their lives during the 1930s and 1940s, Cao feels a strong sense of patriotism and commitment to his nation’s current peace and stability.

Cao has been a part of an airborne unit and expressed his honor in taking part in the parade to pay tribute to his ancestors, acknowledging that their sacrifices laid the foundation for the prosperity of modern China. Another soldier, Tang Lei, who belongs to the Qiang ethnic group, shared his aspirations of honoring the changes within his community during the parade. Tang's motivation was fueled by a life-altering experience during the catastrophic Wenchuan earthquake when he was just eight years old. The rescue efforts he witnessed inspired him to join the military, and he recently graduated from a military academy to serve his country.

As he prepared for the parade, Tang emphasized the importance of gratitude, an integral part of Qiang culture. He wanted to represent his villagers and express his appreciation for the support received from the nation and the military. Soldier Yan Jihui, who enjoys being a driver and excels in his training, also participated in the parade, showcasing the discipline and skills of his fellow soldiers as they maneuvered new airborne equipment in unison through Tian'anmen Square. Together, these young servicemen embody the spirit of dedication and patriotism while honoring the sacrifices of those who came before them, demonstrating their readiness to protect China's ongoing peace and prosperity.

This is a state-controlled narrative. It is important to be critical.

The focus on gratitude towards their nation shows good character.

This glorifies military service, rather than critically evaluating the role of the army.
