One man suffered stab wounds, while a woman sustained a head laceration. The suspect, described as wearing a cream-colored top and a black backpack, was reportedly seen brandishing two large knives in the area. The situation escalated when the man barricaded himself inside an upper-floor flat within Cobbinshaw House, a local tower block.

In response, police established a cordon around Cobbinshaw House, and nearby schools and nurseries were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Public transport, specifically Lothian Buses' number 20 service, was also diverted. The incident caused significant disruption and alarm among the local community.

Containment and Arrest

Police Scotland confirmed that the incident was successfully contained. A man has since been arrested in connection with the disturbance.
