Focusing on reparations seems like a distraction from the urgent economic problems facing our people now.

Another expensive talk shop for leaders to pat themselves on the back. Nothing concrete will come of it.

The theme 'Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM' is inspiring and sets a high bar for the meeting. Still, past summits have been criticized for producing more rhetoric than tangible results, so the public will be looking for measurable progress rather than just promises.
