Dubai Chambers Strengthens Economic Cooperation with Serbia
Dubai Chambers recently concluded a significant trade mission to Belgrade, Serbia, with the objective of deepening economic cooperation and exploring new opportunities for bilateral engagement across a range of priority sectors. The initiative forms a crucial part of Dubai's 'Growth Corridors' strategy, designed to foster trade and investment partnerships with high-potential global markets.
The high-level delegation was led by H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and included H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. During their visit, the delegation engaged with key Serbian stakeholders, including a meeting with H.E. Jagoda Lazarević, Serbia's Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade, to discuss broadening bilateral ties.
Focus on Strategic Sectors and Investment Opportunities
Discussions during the mission centered on enhancing trade and investment across various strategic sectors. Key areas of focus included:
- Food and Agriculture
- Tourism
- Renewable Energy
- Logistics
- Manufacturing
- Mining
- Advanced Technology
- Artificial Intelligence
- Pharmaceuticals
- Real Estate
- Financial Services
A roundtable was also held with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), bringing together seven leading Serbian technology entrepreneurs. This session highlighted Dubai's strategy for accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence applications and the support available for Serbian companies looking to expand into Dubai's advanced technology ecosystem.
Growing Trade and Business Engagement
The mission underscored the robust growth in economic relations between Dubai and Serbia. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Serbia reached AED 335.8 million in 2024, marking a significant 43.5% year-on-year growth. Furthermore, by the end of December 2025, a total of 308 Serbian companies were registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, reflecting a 36.9% annual increase. In 2025 alone, 109 Serbian companies joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori emphasized that 'The growing cooperation between Dubai and Serbia reflects our shared commitment to opening new horizons for trade and investment.' The mission also served to build upon the existing UAE–Serbia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aiming to unlock further partnership opportunities.
Future Collaborations and Market Expansion
Dubai Chambers extended invitations to Serbian companies to participate in specialized trade exhibitions hosted in Dubai and highlighted the benefits of co-organizing bilateral business events to facilitate direct engagement. The President of the CCIS, Marko Čadež, noted the successful cooperation through the World Trade Centers Association and mentioned plans to bring GITEX Global, a major technology fair, to Belgrade in 2027 as part of the EXPO exhibition.
