It's good that Gardaí are investigating and seeking witnesses for this particular crash. Yet, the fact that this is the third death this year shows a systemic issue that requires more than just post-incident investigations.

Fines and penalties aren't tough enough, clearly.

This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers on our roads, but simply blaming drivers overlooks other factors. We should also consider how vehicle safety standards and emergency response times play a role in outcomes.

My deepest sympathies go out to the family of the deceased. It's a sad reality that these appeals often come after the fact, highlighting the urgent need for more proactive road safety education and enforcement.

Dashcam footage is so important. Hope witnesses come forward.

It's truly tragic to hear of another road death, especially so early in the year. However, just appealing for witnesses isn't enough; we need a broader strategy to tackle the root causes of these incidents.
