Tragic Incident Unfolds in Northern NSW
One man has died and two others have sustained injuries following a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, approximately 10 kilometres west of Murwillumbah in northern New South Wales, Australia. Emergency services were called to a property on Tyalgum Road, Eungella, around 1:25 PM, after reports of a shooting.
Details of the Shooting and Injuries
According to initial reports from the Tweed/Byron Police District, two men, aged 41 and 38, were allegedly shot by another individual. The 41-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound and tragically died at the scene. He has not yet been formally identified.
The 38-year-old man also sustained a gunshot wound and later sought treatment at a local hospital.
In a related but separate incident on Tyalgum Road, a 45-year-old man was allegedly struck by a car. He is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital and remains under police guard.
Police Investigation and Manhunt Underway
Authorities have launched a major police operation in response to the events. Police have been informed that the alleged shooter fled the scene alongside a fourth man. Investigators are actively working to locate a 37-year-old man who they believe can assist with their inquiries into the incident.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Tyalgum Road has been closed between Kellys Road and Old Lismore Road to facilitate police activities. The NSW Police Force urges anyone with information regarding the shooting or the whereabouts of the individuals involved to contact Tweed Heads Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The quick action by emergency services is commendable given the circumstances. Yet, the fact that an alleged shooter is still at large means residents will remain on edge until an arrest is made.
