Azerbaijani Delegation Engages Austrian Parliament on Bilateral Ties and Energy Cooperation

High-Level Parliamentary Dialogue in Vienna

A parliamentary delegation from Azerbaijan, headed by Tahir Mirkishili, the leader of the Azerbaijan–Austria Inter-Parliamentary Working Group, conducted an official visit to Austria on November 26, 2025. During their visit, the delegation engaged in significant discussions with Walter Rosenkranz, the Speaker of the Austrian Parliament, in Vienna. The meetings underscored the current state of relations between the two nations and highlighted the crucial role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering stronger bilateral ties.

A central theme of the discussions was Azerbaijan's role in Europe's energy security and the potential for enhanced cooperation with Austria in the energy sector. The Azerbaijani delegation also included Rovshan Sadigbayli, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Austria, and Azar Karimli, a member of the Azerbaijan–Austria Inter-Parliamentary Working Group, further emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the diplomatic engagement.

Strengthening Inter-Parliamentary Relations

The meeting served as a platform to reinforce the importance of inter-parliamentary working groups in expanding relations between legislative authorities.
