Mass Gathering Turns Violent Near Monument to the Revolution
A public gathering organized by popular influencers 'El Bogueto' and 'Maestro Shifu' (Adriano Zendejas) on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Mexico City, resulted in significant disturbances, leaving five people injured and three individuals arrested. The event, held near the iconic Monument to the Revolution, specifically in the vicinity of Avenida Insurgentes and Calzada México-Tenochtitlán in the Tabacalera neighborhood, attracted hundreds of young followers and quickly escalated into chaos.
The Event's Purpose and Escalation
The gathering was reportedly convened by 'Maestro Shifu', a digital streamer and former television actor, and reggaeton singer 'El Bogueto' (Armando Toledo), with the intention of distributing caps and potentially initiating a 'rodada' (motorcycle ride) towards the Flow Fest. The call for the event led to a massive turnout, with hundreds of young people arriving on foot and on motorcycles, causing severe traffic congestion and road closures in the Cuauhtémoc borough. The large crowd and lack of control contributed to a tense atmosphere, with reports indicating that the situation became increasingly volatile even before the main incident.
Car Incident Leads to Injuries and Arrests
Amidst the growing disorder, a group of attendees reportedly began to behave violently, targeting a black private vehicle. The car was vandalized by the agitated crowd. In an attempt to escape the escalating aggression, the driver of the vehicle accelerated, striking five people in the process. Paramedics from the Escuadrón de Rescate y Urgencias Médicas (ERUM) quickly responded to the scene to provide aid to the injured individuals. Following the incident, three young individuals were detained in connection with the hit-and-run.
Widespread Vandalism and Aftermath
Beyond the car incident, the event was marked by broader acts of vandalism and disruption. Reports indicate that at least six semi-fixed clothing stalls and a food stand belonging to street vendors were damaged and some merchandise stolen. The situation further deteriorated when 'Maestro Shifu' and 'El Bogueto' reportedly attempted to depart the scene on a structure mounted atop a truck, leading to more chaos as followers descended from a nearby balcony, causing additional damage to vendor stalls. In the aftermath, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) impounded 98 motorcycles for various infractions, highlighting the extensive nature of the disturbances.

People just wanted to have fun, don't demonize them.

Mexico City deserves better than this uncontrolled behavior.

While the influencers bear some responsibility for not securing permits or proper planning, the city's apparent lack of immediate response allowed the situation to escalate. Better coordination between all parties could have prevented this.

While the influencers clearly underestimated the crowd size and lacked proper organization, the aggressive actions of certain individuals and the driver's response created a dangerous situation. It's a multifaceted problem with blame to go around.

This incident underscores the complex dynamics of modern celebrity and fan interaction; while the intention might have been harmless, the sheer scale and lack of control led to predictable mayhem. There's a fine line between a popular event and a public safety hazard.
