Air France Highlights Technical Careers at National Industry Event
Air France successfully concluded its involvement in the 14th edition of Industry Week (Semaine de l'Industrie) on November 23, 2025. The national event, which ran from November 17 to 23, 2025, aimed to promote French industrial expertise and inspire vocations, especially among young people and women. This year's theme was 'Avec l'industrie, fabrique ton avenir' ('With industry, build your future').
Organized by the Direction générale des Entreprises (DGE) of the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, with support from France Industrie and other key ministries, Industry Week serves as a crucial platform to enhance the attractiveness of industrial professions and address recruitment challenges across the sector.
Promoting Aircraft Maintenance Professions
For Air France, Industry Week provided a significant opportunity to highlight the diverse and essential aircraft maintenance professions within the Air France-KLM Group. The airline's participation underscored its commitment to fostering new talent and ensuring the continuity of skilled labor in this specialized field. The company emphasized the richness of these careers and actively sought to attract new recruits.
Key Initiatives and Engagement
Air France engaged with prospective talents through several impactful initiatives during the week, led by its employee ambassadors:
- At the Cité des Métiers Charles de Gaulle - Alliance, 24 pre-vocational students from Champs de Claye Middle School participated in a forum dedicated to discovering aircraft maintenance professions.
- The Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget hosted 30 aeronautical and technical vocational high school students from Lycée Aristide Briand. They received a guided tour and engaged in discussions with professionals from Air France Industries.
In parallel with these direct interactions, Air France launched a digital campaign. This initiative featured portraits of aircraft maintenance employees, aiming to raise public awareness about the variety of roles and career paths available within the airline's technical divisions.
Future Recruitment and Commitments
Air France's involvement in Industry Week is part of a broader, long-term commitment by the Air France-KLM Group to employment and training in France. The Group has ambitious plans to recruit over 1,000 permanent (CDI) employees by the end of 2027, with a primary focus on aircraft maintenance roles. This recruitment drive is essential to support the growth of its operations and the ongoing renewal of its fleet. Since 2022, approximately 500 new employees have joined Air France's maintenance teams annually on permanent contracts, reinforcing the company's vital role in developing qualified industrial employment in France. The airline also reaffirms its dedication to the professional integration of future generations, promoting the feminization of technical professions, and championing diversity and inclusion within its workforce.
