NIA Arrests Four More Prime Accused in Red Fort Blast Case, Total Six in Custody

NIA Apprehends Four More Suspects

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday, November 20, 2025, announced the arrest of four additional prime accused in connection with the devastating car blast that occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi on November 10, 2025. These arrests bring the total number of individuals in NIA custody for the case to six. The four newly apprehended individuals were identified as Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag, Dr. Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian.

The accused were taken into custody by the NIA in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, following production orders from the District Sessions Judge, Patiala House Court. According to NIA investigations, they played a 'key role' in the terror attack that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. These individuals had previously been held by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their suspected links with a 'terror' module.

Details of the November 10 Terror Attack

The blast, which the Indian government labeled a terrorist act on November 12, 2025, involved a car explosion near the Red Fort. The incident, which occurred at approximately 6:52 p.m. IST on November 10, 2025, killed at least 15 people and injured more than 20 others. Preliminary police findings indicated that the blast was caused by a car loaded with ammonium nitrate fuel oil and other explosives. The vehicle, a white Hyundai i20, was reportedly driven by Umar Un Nabi, a Pulwama-based doctor and Assistant Professor at Al Falah University, Faridabad, who was identified as the deceased suicide bomber through DNA analysis.

Expanding Investigation and Alleged Network

The recent arrests follow the earlier apprehension of two other accused by the NIA: Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who allegedly provided technical aid to the terrorist involved in the attack. Investigators have found that several doctors from Faridabad and Kashmir, with alleged links to Al Falah University, are part of a larger network. The NIA is probing the incident as part of a 'white-collar terror module' with suspected links to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

The investigation spans multiple states, with the NIA coordinating with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, and Uttar Pradesh Police to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module. Search operations are ongoing to uncover the wider network behind the attack.

While it's vital to bring those responsible for such a horrific attack to justice, the speed of these arrests and the broad 'terror module' claims raise questions about thoroughness and potential for misidentification.

Justice for the victims of the Red Fort blast. Appreciate the arrests!

While the arrests are a step towards closure for the victims' families, the focus on a 'white-collar terror module' should prompt a serious discussion on how such individuals are radicalized and what preventative measures are truly effective.

How quickly they identify 'terror modules' when it suits them. Questionable.
