Vaduz on Ice Kicks Off Twelfth Season of Winter Festivities

Vaduz on Ice Returns for Twelfth Season

The heart of Vaduz, Liechtenstein, is set to transform into a winter wonderland as Vaduz on Ice opens its twelfth season on Friday, November 7, 2025. The popular ice rink, located at the Rathausplatz (Town Hall Square), will welcome visitors for nearly two months of festive activities, concluding on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 PM on November 7th, marking the official start of the winter attraction.

Activities and Entertainment on Ice

Vaduz on Ice offers a range of activities designed for all ages. The central attraction remains the expansive ice skating rink, where both beginners and experienced skaters can enjoy gliding across the ice in a picturesque setting. Beyond traditional ice skating, visitors can also engage in ice stock sport (Eisstockschiessen), a popular team activity that adds a competitive and social element to the winter experience.

Culinary Delights and Cozy Ambiance

Complementing the on-ice activities, Vaduz on Ice features a variety of culinary offerings. The cozy 'Vadozner Alphötta', a traditional wooden chalet, provides a warm retreat where guests can enjoy classic winter dishes such as raclette and fondue. Surrounding the ice rink, several market stalls offer an array of hot beverages and snacks. These include roasted chestnuts (Maroni), various crêpes, soups, and other local specialties, ensuring a delightful gastronomic experience for all visitors.

Vaduz on Ice maintains flexible operating hours throughout its season. The ice rink is generally open on weekdays from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Saturdays, it operates from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and on Sundays and public holidays, hours are from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. During school holidays, the rink opens daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Same old thing every year. Wish they'd try something new.

It's wonderful for bringing the community together, but the admission and skate rental costs can make it quite an expensive day for larger families.

The extended hours for school holidays are great for kids, but the weekday afternoon opening might be difficult for parents who work until later.
