PM Modi Unveils ₹14,260 Crore Projects, Inaugurates Chhattisgarh's 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Chhattisgarh Marks Silver Jubilee with Major Development Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on November 1, 2025, to participate in the state's 25th Foundation Day celebrations. During his visit, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a wide array of development projects valued at over ₹14,260 crore, aiming to bolster infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and industrial growth across the state. The Prime Minister addressed the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, emphasizing the state's journey of progress over the past quarter-century.

Key Infrastructure and Energy Initiatives

The projects launched by Prime Minister Modi are set to significantly enhance Chhattisgarh's connectivity and energy landscape. Notable initiatives include:

• The inauguration of HPCL's state-of-the-art Petroleum Oil Depot in Raipur, built at a cost exceeding ₹460 crore with a storage capacity of 54,000 Kilolitres (KL) for petrol, diesel, and ethanol.
• The dedication of the 489 km Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, a ₹1,950 crore project designed to connect 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to the National Gas Grid.
• Foundation stones for a Greenfield Highway under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, valued at ₹3,150 crore, and upgrades to national highways across Bastar, Narayanpur, and Deobhog.
• Inauguration of nine new power substations, costing approximately ₹480 crore, across districts such as Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bemetara, Gariyaband, and Bastar.
• The launch of the ER–WR Interconnection Project, which will increase power transfer capacity between the eastern and western grids by 1,600 MW.
• Foundation stones for two Smart Industrial Areas at Siladehi-Gatwa-Birra in Janjgir-Champa and Bijletala in Rajnandgaon, along with a Pharmaceutical Park at Sector 22, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

Advancements in Healthcare and Social Welfare

The Prime Minister's visit also focused on strengthening Chhattisgarh's healthcare and social welfare sectors. He laid the foundation stone for five new government medical colleges in Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Geedam (Dantewada), and a Government Ayurveda College and Hospital in Bilaspur. A significant event was his interaction with 2,500 children who had successfully undergone treatment for congenital heart diseases at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar, as part of the 'Gift of Life' ceremony. Additionally, a 'Griha Pravesh' ceremony was held for 3.51 lakh houses completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Cultural and Spiritual Milestones

During the celebrations, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the new Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha building and unveiled a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee within its premises. He also inaugurated the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, honoring the state's rich tribal heritage. The 'Shanti Shikhar' Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centre in Nava Raipur was also inaugurated, described as a modern hub for spiritual learning and peace.

Vision for a Developed Chhattisgarh

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi lauded the collective efforts of the people in Chhattisgarh's development, stating that the 'seed sown by Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government has grown into a flourishing tree of progress.' He highlighted the state's achievements in rural electrification, internet access, Ujjwala gas connections, and the expansion of its road network to 40,000 km. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh would continue to play a pivotal role in realizing the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) and reiterated the government's commitment to eliminating Naxalism from the state by March 31, 2026.
