Kuwait to Host Inaugural Gulf Red Crescent AI Conference for Humanitarian Innovation

The State of Kuwait will host the inaugural Gulf Red Crescent Conference on Artificial Intelligence from October 22 to 23, 2025. This landmark event, organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat, marks a significant step towards leveraging artificial intelligence for humanitarian work and enhancing regional collaboration. The conference is themed 'Towards New Horizons in Humanitarian Work and Development Media – Investing in the Power of Artificial Intelligence,' reflecting a commitment to exploring AI's transformative potential in the humanitarian sector. Khaled Al-Mughamis (also referred to as Khaled Al-Maqamis), Chairman of the KRCS Board of Directors, highlighted that the event aims to establish a unified Gulf vision for integrating AI into humanitarian efforts, thereby strengthening Kuwait's role as a hub for humanitarian innovation. The conference coincides with Gulf Red Crescent Day, observed annually on October 23.

Key Discussions and Objectives

Under the patronage of Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya, the two-day conference will bring together experts, specialists from GCC countries and beyond, and representatives from international humanitarian organizations. The agenda is designed to address critical areas where AI can make a substantial impact, including:
