Tragic Incident at Kisan Feed Industry
Three workers were killed and two others sustained injuries following a wall collapse at the Kisan Feed Industry in Ratnanagar Municipality-12, Shantikunj Tole, eastern Chitwan, Nepal. The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday morning, October 15, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., when a partition wall within the factory premises suddenly gave way.
Victims Identified, Injured Undergoing Treatment
The three workers who lost their lives in the collapse were identified as Shukram Darai, 45, from Khairahani-2; Resham Darai, 54, originally from Gorkha and residing in Ratnanagar-12; and Kamal Gurung, 45, also from Ratnanagar-12. All three victims were rushed to Chitwan Medical College but were pronounced dead during treatment.
The two injured individuals are Jitendra Mahato, 39, originally from Parsa and residing in Ratnanagar-12, and Ankaj Prasad Tharu, 40, from the same locality. Both are currently receiving medical attention at Chitwan Medical College, and their condition has been reported as moderate.
Details of the Collapse and Ongoing Investigation
According to police reports, the accident was caused by the sudden collapse of a 10-inch-thick brick partition wall inside the feed factory. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the Chitwan District Police Office confirmed the fatalities and the ongoing treatment of the injured.
Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the wall's collapse and to ascertain if any safety protocols were breached. The police are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event at the Kisan Feed Industry.
