Germany Arrests Three Suspected Hamas Operatives Planning Attacks on Jewish Institutions

Three Suspected Hamas Operatives Apprehended in Germany

German authorities have announced the arrest of three suspected Hamas operatives in Berlin on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The men are accused of planning terror attacks against Jewish and Israeli institutions within Germany. The arrests were the culmination of a multi-month surveillance operation, reportedly conducted in coordination with Israeli intelligence services, including the Mossad.

The suspects were identified by German federal prosecutors, in line with privacy laws, as Abed Al G., Wael F. M., and Ahmad I. Abed Al G., aged 36, is a German citizen of Lebanese descent. Wael F. M., 43, was born in Lebanon, with his nationality currently unclear. Ahmad I., 44, is a German national originally from Syria.

Allegations and Seized Weaponry

Prosecutors allege that the three men are members of Hamas, which is designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the European Union, the United States, and Israel. They are charged with preparing serious acts of violence endangering the state and with procuring firearms and ammunition since at least the summer of 2025. These weapons were reportedly intended for 'assassination attacks targeting Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany.'

During the arrests in Berlin, law enforcement officers seized a significant cache of weapons. The items recovered included an AK-47 assault rifle, several pistols (including a Glock pistol), and a considerable amount of ammunition. Additional police searches were carried out simultaneously in the towns of Leipzig and Oberhausen as part of the ongoing investigation.

Court Appearance and Broader Context

The suspects appeared before an investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Formal arrest warrants were issued, and they were remanded into pre-trial detention. The investigation is expected to continue for several months.

Hamas has issued a statement denying any connection to the arrested individuals, calling the allegations 'baseless' and asserting that its struggle is 'confined to opposing Israeli occupation in Palestine.' These arrests occur amidst heightened security across Europe, particularly around Jewish communities and institutions, following the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. German authorities have repeatedly warned of increased threats against Jewish communities since the conflict began. This incident marks the second significant Hamas-related prosecution in Germany this year, following a trial in February involving four Hamas members accused of plotting attacks on Jewish sites in Europe.

Catching potential terrorists is good, no doubt. But I hope investigators are truly impartial and not just reacting to political pressure or external intelligence without thorough independent vetting.

Glad they caught these extremists before they could harm anyone. Stay vigilant, Germany!

Mossad involvement? Sounds like a politically motivated setup.

Another excuse to crack down on dissent. Where's the concrete proof?

Relief to see decisive action against those planning violence.
