A 38-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged attempted armed robbery at a Commonwealth Bank branch in Kingsgrove, Sydney. The incident unfolded on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, shortly after 10 am, when police were called to the bank on Kingsgrove Road.
Authorities allege the woman entered the bank armed with a knife, which she reportedly used to threaten staff and demand money. Security camera footage reportedly captured the woman earlier stealing two knives from a nearby dollar shop before proceeding to the bank.
Swift Police Response and Arrest
Officers from the St George Police Area Command responded quickly to the scene. They successfully apprehended the woman inside the bank without incident. Reports indicate that the proximity of the bank to a police training facility may have contributed to the rapid three-minute response time. Two knives were seized from the woman upon her arrest.
