CCI Saint-Martin Announces E-Weekend 2025 Focused on Artificial Intelligence

CCISM to Host Third E-Weekend on AI

The Chambre Consulaire Interprofessionnelle de Saint-Martin (CCISM) is set to host its third annual E-Weekend on October 10 and 11, 2025. This year's event will focus on the pervasive theme of 'AI in all domains' ('L'IA dans tous les domaines'), with the primary objective of familiarizing and raising awareness among the island's professionals regarding the applications and implications of artificial intelligence.

The E-Weekend is specifically designed for professionals, young creators, and business leaders across Saint-Martin. Angèle Dormoy, President of the CCISM, emphasized the growing importance of AI, stating, 'We will arrive in a world where we will use AI as we use the calculator daily.'

Comprehensive Program for AI Exploration

The two-day event will feature a robust program, including approximately twenty scheduled appointments, comprising masterclasses and roundtable discussions.

Day One: Roundtable on AI as an Innovation Engine

The E-Weekend will commence on Friday, October 10, with a roundtable discussion titled 'AI, engine of innovation in all sectors' ('L'IA, moteur d'innovation dans tous les secteurs'). This session is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM at the Computech site in Galisbay. Five distinguished speakers are expected to contribute to the discussion:

  • Diederik Kemmerling, founder of The Lab agency
  • Anne Elghozi, president of Green Eye Sight Lab
  • Dr. Huidi Tchero, president of R2C
  • Estelle Sablon, school teacher

Saturday, October 11, will be dedicated to intensive learning, with 16 masterclasses scheduled between 9:00 AM and 8:45 PM. These sessions will cover a wide array of topics, ensuring that various professional sectors are represented. Laurina Algain-Gombas, project manager and digital referent, noted, 'We tried our best to bring together many sectors around artificial intelligence.' Key sectors to be addressed include:

I'm skeptical. Will this actually translate into tangible benefits for the average business?

While the event offers valuable insights into AI's potential, the cost structure might exclude smaller entrepreneurs who need this knowledge the most. Perhaps more subsidized options could be considered.

Finally, a focused event on AI for our island. The masterclasses look incredibly useful.

AI sounds great, but what about the jobs it will replace? No mention of that.

It's good that CCISM is promoting AI awareness, as it's definitely growing in importance. However, I hope the content is tailored enough for Saint-Martin's unique business landscape and not just general theory.
