New Defense Venture Established in Denmark
MITS Capital, a Ukrainian-American investment group, has officially launched MITS Industries, a new Danish-Ukrainian defense technology company. The venture, established in Denmark with headquarters in both Copenhagen and Kyiv, aims to consolidate Ukrainian defense technology producers to enhance European security and defense capabilities.
According to Perry Boyle, CEO and Founding Partner at MITS Capital and Chairman of MITS Industries, 'Denmark is an ideal partner for Ukraine. The two countries share a common heritage, a common enemy, and common values. The combination of Danish capital and technology with Ukraine's large and innovative defense industrial base empowers European defense against Russian aggression.'
Uniting Ukrainian Defense Technology Leaders
MITS Industries is designed to serve as a platform investment for the Ukrainian defense technology market, bringing together over 1,000 specialists from leading Ukrainian firms. The company will focus on several key segments of defense technology, including:
- Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs)
- Counter-drone systems
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
- Unmanned Surface and Underwater Vehicles (USVs/UUVs)
- Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
Initial companies integrated into MITS Industries include Tencore, a prominent producer of unmanned ground robots; Infozahyst, a Ukrainian signals intelligence manufacturer with over two decades of experience; Unwave, one of Ukraine's largest electronic warfare systems makers; and an undisclosed drone manufacturer.
Strategic Goals and Economic Projections
MITS Capital will act as the coordinator, catalyst, and investor for the new entity, with primary financing expected from institutional investors in Denmark and other countries. MITS Industries plans to operate on a 'drone-as-a-service' model, facilitating the scaled production of advanced drone and counter-drone solutions across air, land, and maritime domains. This approach is intended to expand export opportunities and attract further institutional investment.
The company projects its revenue to exceed $200 million in 2026. Denys Gurak, CIO and Founding Partner at MITS Capital, emphasized the long-term vision, stating, 'This is just the beginning. MITS Industries will generate significant capacity scaling and revenue opportunities and will be a platform for additional mergers and tuck-in acquisitions. In just a few years, we intend for MITS Industries to join the ranks of European defense primes.' Gurak added that the ultimate goal is 'to help Ukraine win the current war and to help Europe defend itself against the next one.'

Concerned about the long-term implications of this arms race. Where does it stop?

While bolstering defense is crucial for Ukraine, the long-term economic reliance on military production raises sustainability questions. We need to ensure peace efforts aren't overshadowed by industrial growth.

This 'drone-as-a-service' model sounds like a recipe for disaster.

More weapons, more war. This only escalates tensions, not peace.
