Vice President JD Vance will host "The Charlie Kirk Show" from the White House on Monday. The special broadcast is a tribute to the conservative commentator, who was tragically killed the previous week.
Vance and Kirk shared a close friendship and political alliance. Vance has described Kirk as a dedicated supporter and a key figure in his efforts to become Donald Trump's running mate.
The show is scheduled to air at 12 p.m. ET on X and Rumble. The broadcast comes less than a week after Kirk was fatally shot during a visit to a college campus in Utah. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, is currently in custody as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Vance received the news of Kirk's shooting via text message while in a meeting at the West Wing. Group messages were exchanged, including Kirk, with many expressing their prayers for his recovery. Following Kirk's death, Vance wrote a letter expressing his grief and faith.
The show follows a weekend of memorial events held across the United States to honor Kirk. Thousands of supporters gathered to pay their respects to the right-wing commentator. Memorials have been established in Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Arizona, and at Utah Valley University, with tributes including U.S. flags, flowers, and letters. Turning Point USA, Kirk's conservative organization, plans to hold a memorial on September 21 at State Farm Stadium near Phoenix.
Authorities are investigating the suspect, Tyler Robinson, who is not cooperating with the investigation. Utah Governor Spencer Cox stated that investigators are working to determine the motive behind the shooting. Cox mentioned a "leftist ideology" as a potential factor, based on interviews with Robinson's associates. He also noted the suspect's involvement in "deep, dark internet" communities.

Are we really honoring Kirk, or are we just giving Vance a platform to promote his own interests?

JD Vance should be focusing on real problems instead of glorifying a controversial figure in a time of mourning.

This is nothing but a stunt to rally the base. It diminishes Kirk's tragedy to use it for political mileage.

It’s great to see leaders taking a stand and recognizing those who have helped them along the way.

Kirk's radical views contributed to a toxic environment. We shouldn't celebrate someone who polarized so many.
