The Federal Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates participated in the International Forum on Constitutional Justice, themed "Peace and the Future Through Law." The forum took place in Astana, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The UAE delegation was headed by Counsellor Mohammed Albadi Al-Dhaheri, the President of the Federal Supreme Court. The delegation also included Judge Shihab Abdulrahman Al Hammadi and Mohammed Saeed Nasser Al Shibli, the Director of Support Services at the Court.
Following the forum's conclusion, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan met with the heads of the participating delegations.
During his address, the President of the Federal Supreme Court emphasized the forum's significance as a venue for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas on utilizing the law to create a peaceful, just, and collaborative international future.
He stressed the crucial role of constitutional courts in upholding constitutional justice by overseeing the constitutionality of laws and regulations. He noted the UAE Federal Supreme Court's key role in establishing and advancing constitutional justice through its constitutional chamber. Furthermore, he highlighted the positive impact of the UAE's electronic litigation system in improving access to constitutional justice and streamlining judicial processes.
On the forum's sidelines, Al-Dhaheri engaged in discussions with senior judicial leaders in Kazakhstan. These discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchanging insights on judicial and legislative developments.
