UCLA has dismissed football coach DeShaun Foster following the team's disappointing start to the season. The decision was made on Sunday, prompted by the Bruins' winless record of 0-3, a situation not seen since 2019.
The announcement came from Athletic Director Martin Jarmond, just two days after UCLA suffered a significant loss to New Mexico, with a final score of 35-10 on Friday. This defeat marked their second consecutive loss against a team from the Mountain West Conference.
Foster's tenure began in February 2024, succeeding Chip Kelly. During his time at the helm, Foster's record stood at 5-10. The Bruins' early season struggles included losses to Utah in their opening game and a defeat against UNLV the previous week.
Tim Skipper has been appointed as the interim coach and will lead the team for the remainder of the season. The schedule ahead presents a challenging test, featuring matchups against three highly ranked teams from the Big Ten Conference.

Hope Foster's successful elsewhere as he moves on, but the Bruin's football program has to do better

I feel bad for Foster. He deserved more time to prove himself. UCLA is impatient.

Another coach bites the dust? UCLA needs stability, a fast and cruel business!

The new division and opponents are too powerful and it would only get harder. The record is bad.

How about giving the man a chance to recruit and build his own team? This is knee-jerk and short-sighted.
