On Thursday, the Princess of Wales visited Sudbury Silk Mills, a family-run weaving mill in Suffolk. Upon arriving, she shared an emotional moment with Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk. Lowther-Pinkerton is also a godfather to Prince George, the eldest child of Kate and Prince William. The Princess was visibly pleased to see him, greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.
Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton's close relationship with the couple led to his selection as one of Prince George's godparents. He previously served as their private secretary, fostering a strong bond with both Kate and William.
Lowther-Pinkerton served as William, Kate, and Prince Harry’s first private secretary from 2005 to 2013. During this time, he worked closely with the couple and also held positions such as director of the Royal Foundation and director of Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale. He stepped down from these roles and his position as private secretary in 2013. Despite his departure, he remained a significant figure in their lives, as evidenced by his role as Prince George's godfather. The couple's appreciation for him was evident even earlier, as they asked his son to be a pageboy at their 2011 wedding.
The reunion on Thursday demonstrated the enduring strength of their connection, despite not having been seen together publicly in some time. It is understood that William and Kate maintain contact with Lowther-Pinkerton, along with Prince George’s other godparents. Prince George has a total of seven godparents, including Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, the Duke of Westminster, Julia Samuel, Zara Tindall, and William van Cutsem.

It's nice to see they still maintain strong relationships with trusted advisors.

I'm more interested in real issues, not who kissed whom.

That's the sort of story that makes my day - a display of affection!
