Japanese Prime Minister Urges Russia to Take Action on Ukraine Conflict

On Wednesday, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba called for a proactive stance from Russia regarding the ongoing Ukraine war during a virtual meeting with other leaders from the Coalition of the Willing. This discussion took place ahead of scheduled talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, as reported by the Foreign Ministry.

Ishiba acknowledged Trump's initiatives aimed at achieving a cease-fire between Ukraine and Russia and urged Moscow to engage positively in the upcoming discussions. Additionally, he reaffirmed Japan's dedication to supporting Ukraine, focusing on its reconstruction in collaboration with the global community and the private sector. The online meeting concerning the Ukraine conflict was organized by leaders from Britain, France, and Germany.
