In University Place, Washington, a surveillance video captured a failed attempt to tow a car that resulted in a series of collisions with a restaurant. The incident, which occurred on July 30, prompted a call to Pierce County sheriff’s deputies at around 6 a.m. after a maroon sedan crashed into the Pho and Teriyaki restaurant.
The vehicle, initially parked near AutoZone the previous day, was left abandoned in a parking lot following the accidents. According to deputies, the driver had informed employees that he would return to tow his vehicle. Footage later revealed a white Honda Pilot with a trailer attempting to tow the maroon sedan at approximately 3:45 a.m.
Despite the initial effort, the tow strap snapped after the vehicle was pulled to the other side of the parking lot. The driver tried to re-secure the car, but when the strap broke a second time, the sedan rolled back into the restaurant. An additional attempt to tow the vehicle was made, which ultimately failed as the car struck the building once again. Frustrated, the driver and a female companion abandoned the vehicle and left the scene.
The sheriff’s office is currently investigating this incident as a hit-and-run due to the extensive damage incurred by the restaurant. At this time, it remains unclear whether any arrests or charges have been filed in connection with the situation.

The tow truck driver should be held responsible just as much as the car owner! Leaving the scene like that is unacceptable.

People make mistakes; can we really blame the driver for trying? At least they didn't just leave the car there.

Loved the restaurant's food! Hope they can recover from this. Not everything is the driver's fault.

Horrible behavior! These people need to take responsibility for their actions instead of abandoning ship.

Why wasn’t the towing company more professional? This whole situation screams negligence!
