In a troubling incident in Tokyo, two Chinese individuals were severely injured after being attacked by four unidentified assailants. Local media, including Japan's Jiji Press, reported that the attack took place at approximately 9 a.m. as the victims were strolling down a street in Chiyoda Ward.
The assailants, who were armed with iron pipes, caused the victims to bleed heavily and sustain serious head trauma. Witnesses noted that the attackers were dressed in hooded sweatshirts and work uniforms, likely to hide their identities. Following the assault, the suspects fled in the direction of Akihabara Station, escaping in a vehicle that had a license plate registered in the Kansai region.
Authorities have secured the area surrounding the attack and the routes that the attackers used to escape. An investigation into the circumstances of the assault is currently ongoing as police continue to seek any leads on the assailants.
