Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Monday that the next round of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine would be held in Türkiye on Wednesday. He shared this information during his daily address.
Zelensky stated that he had discussed the upcoming meeting with Rustem Umerov, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. According to Zelensky, Umerov informed him that the meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, with further details expected the following day.
Rustem Umerov, who previously served as defense minister, was recently appointed to his current role. He led the Ukrainian delegation in the two previous rounds of talks held in Istanbul, Türkiye.
However, a report from Russia's TASS news agency cited a source indicating that the third round of talks was planned for Thursday. The source suggested that the meeting was scheduled for July 24th, with delegations potentially arriving in Istanbul on the 23rd.
On Sunday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia was prepared to expedite progress toward a resolution regarding Ukraine, while emphasizing the primary goal of achieving its objectives.

It's encouraging that both sides are making an effort to talk.

It's hard to trust Putin's men. I don't see any peace in this.

July 24th? Why the discrepancy in dates? Something isn't right here.

Hoping for peace is one thing, anticipating progress is another. Pessimistic on this round honestly.
