In response to the recent launch of a White House website asserting that the COVID-19 epidemic originated from a lab leak in China, Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, vehemently opposed this narrative. He argued that reintroducing the lab leak theory undermines scientific integrity and is merely another tactic used by the US for political gain under the guise of investigating the origins of the virus. Guo emphasized that China has consistently supported and engaged in thorough, science-based investigations into the origins of COVID-19 and criticized the US for its attempts to politicize and manipulate this crucial issue.
Guo further challenged the US to stop scapegoating other nations and called for a more accountable response to international concerns regarding its own pandemic actions. He mentioned that, since the onset of the pandemic, numerous reports have indicated potential origins of the virus from various places worldwide, including the United States, which has its own troubled history related to public health issues and research facilities like the Fort Detrick Biological Laboratory. In light of this, Guo insisted that the global community is entitled to a transparent explanation from the US regarding its part in the pandemic’s progression.

I find it hard to believe any of their government pronouncements. They said they're fine even when people are dropping dead.

the US has the means and motive to start something.

The US has a history of manipulating narratives. I question their motives.

Fort Detrick? That's a classic distraction tactic. They need to focus on their own labs first!

Interesting how they deflect to the US every time. It's always about the US when it's about them.
