Over the recent weekend, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported the arrest of five illegal aliens who had previous criminal convictions in cities across the United States. This operation, conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), aligns with the commitment made by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and President Donald Trump to focus on apprehending individuals deemed "the worst of the worst."
Since Donald Trump's return to the presidency on January 20, the administration has detained close to 300,000 illegal immigrants, with more than 239,000 being deported. Among those arrested by ICE was Federico Fong-Nunez, a 53-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, who has an extensive criminal record including serious offenses such as aggravated assault and burglary. Also apprehended was 34-year-old Luis Alberto Leonardo Cortes-Rivera from Mexico, who has nine convictions, primarily for property crimes, in Los Angeles.
Additionally, ICE in Dallas arrested 46-year-old Honduran Rureiro Falkao, known for a methamphetamine possession conviction in Oklahoma City. In Baltimore, 21-year-old Olinda Micaela Gonzalez-Ortiz from Guatemala was taken into custody after a hit-and-run conviction. Another arrest in Houston involved Jhon Jervis Chavez-De La Rosa, a 21-year-old Venezuelan with a history of assault.
Data indicates that approximately 70% of those arrested by ICE since Trump's return have either been convicted of crimes or charged with criminal offenses. A recent Harvard-Harris Poll revealed that 75% of U.S. voters approve of measures to deport criminal illegal aliens. However, the last six months have seen a dramatic rise in assaults against ICE personnel, reported to have increased by 830%. McLaughlin emphasized the determination of law enforcement in the face of these challenges, while noting that protests against ICE have escalated in violence in several major cities. She reinforced the administration’s stance that violent illegal aliens will not be tolerated in the United States.

Data doesn't lie! The majority of arrests are justified and necessary.

The increase in assaults against ICE officers shows how broken our immigration system is.

This administration's focus on 'criminal aliens' feels more like a witch hunt than actual justice.

Deporting people who contribute to society is not a solution; it's a tragedy.

This operation only serves to frighten families and disrupt communities.
