A search is underway following a report of a sexual assault near a London Underground station. The incident occurred on Hammersmith Grove around 3:40 am on May 18th. The victim, a woman in her thirties, reported being assaulted.
The woman was reportedly followed by a man while walking along Hammersmith Grove, passing the Hammersmith Underground station. After the assault, the man fled towards Hammersmith Broadway. Police are utilizing CCTV footage to trace the man's movements before and after the incident.
The man was observed walking along King Street prior to the assault. Following the incident, he was seen running north on Park Road towards Browning Avenue before entering a residential area.
The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, approximately 5'8" to 6' tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a black North Face jacket, black trousers, and white trainers. The victim is receiving support from specialist police officers.
Detective Superintendent Lucy O’Connor, leading the investigation, emphasized the importance of women's safety on London streets. The police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the man connected to the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
