West Ham United announced on Sunday the signing of England full-back Kyle Walker-Peters. He has agreed to a three-year contract with the club, following his departure from Southampton.
Walker-Peters, a graduate of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, played in over 200 matches for Southampton. During the previous Premier League season, he made 33 appearances. Unfortunately, that season saw Southampton relegated, marking the earliest relegation in the competition's history.
The 28-year-old player has also represented England twice, earning both caps in 2022.
Walker-Peters expressed his excitement about joining West Ham, stating that he had been linked with the club previously. He also mentioned that conversations with coach Graham Potter significantly influenced his decision, highlighting his admiration for Potter's coaching style.
West Ham United concluded the previous season in 14th place. Their upcoming 2025-26 Premier League season will commence on August 16 with an away match against Sunderland.

Southampton just got relegated and we are taking their players? That's not the way to go. We should go for players that can make a difference.

Walker-Peters? Seriously? Another mid-table signing. West Ham's ambition is pathetic.
