Zoho Unveils New AI Offerings, Including In-House LLM and Speech-to-Text Models

Zoho Corporation, a global technology company based in Chennai, India, unveiled a suite of new AI offerings designed for businesses and enterprises. The company announced the successful launch of its in-house developed large language model, Zia LLM. This model was built using NVIDIA's AI-accelerated computing platform.

Zia LLM was created with Zoho product applications in mind, encompassing tasks such as structured data extraction, summarization, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and code generation. The model comprises three distinct versions, each with 1.3 billion, 2.6 billion, and 7 billion parameters. These models were individually trained and optimized for contextual relevance, achieving competitive benchmarks against similar open-source models.

According to Mani Vembu, CEO of Zoho, the announcement underscores the company's dedication to developing foundational technology that prioritizes customer data protection, comprehensive capabilities, and value. He emphasized that Zoho's internal AI development allows the company to provide cutting-edge tools without compromising data privacy or organizational flexibility, thereby democratizing the latest technology globally.

In addition to Zia LLM, Zoho also introduced two proprietary automatic speech-to-text models for English and Hindi. These models are designed to deliver high accuracy while operating efficiently on relatively modest hardware. The company plans to expand support to other Indian languages in the future. The models are optimized to perform efficiently on low computer loads without sacrificing accuracy, outperforming comparable models by up to 75% in standard tests.

Zia LLM will be deployed across Zoho's data centers in the US, India, and Europe. Currently undergoing internal testing across Zoho's extensive app portfolio, the model is expected to be available for customer use in the coming months. Zoho has also simplified the Zia Agent Studio experience, making it fully prompt-based and offering ready-made access to over 700 actions across Zoho's products. Furthermore, Zoho has adopted the Model-View-Controller (MVC) model, providing its own MVC server with a comprehensive action library across various applications.
