The Lai Ching-te administration's ban on exchanges with several mainland universities has been met with criticism from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office. Spokesperson Chen Binhua stated that the move ignores the public's call for peace and cooperation, and that the DPP authorities are deliberately obstructing cross-Straits exchanges.
Chen also accused the DPP of fabricating excuses to resist group tours and hindering the full restoration of direct passenger flights. Additionally, the DPP has demanded a ban on the use of DeepSeek and prohibited public schools from purchasing mainland telecommunications products.
Chen warned that the DPP's actions will ultimately bring about their own downfall, and that the desire of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to come closer and strengthen ties cannot be suppressed. He urged the Lai Ching-te administration to stop acting recklessly and go against the tide, as they will inevitably suffer the consequences and pay a heavy price.

The ban on DeepSeek and the restrictions on mainland telecommunications products stifle economic development and limit the access to technology for Taiwanese people.

The future of Taiwan lies in cooperation, not confrontation. We need to build bridges, not walls, with the mainland to ensure peace and prosperity.

This ban will only create resentment and distrust on both sides of the strait. We need to focus on building a future based on mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.

DPP's actions are shortsighted and self-destructive. The desire for closer relations between the two sides of the strait cannot be ignored.

The DPP is making decisions based on ideology, not the best interests of the Taiwanese people. This needs to stop, and we need to prioritize dialogue and cooperation over division and confrontation.

The DPP is diversifying Taiwan's partnerships and reducing dependence on mainland markets, building a more sustainable and resilient economy.
